In 1972, APIVITA founders Nikos and Niki Koutsiana, as young pharmacists, created their first natural cosmetics, using beekeeping products and herbal extracts. They were inspired by the bee society, the unique biodiversity of Greek nature and Hippocrates' holistic approach to health, beauty and well-being.
In 1979 they created APIVITA. Its name comes from the Latin words Apis (bee) and Vita (life), and means "the life of the bee". A name that reflects the philosophy of the company, which as a living organism, like the bee throughout its life, continuously creates value. Value to society, to the natural environment, to the economy.
